The Met Ball, one of the annual highlights in the fashion calendar, took place in New York on Monday, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I absolutely loved the 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' theme this year, so I thought I would share some of my favourite looks with you after scrutinising all the celeb photos on Vogue!

First off, I really love how Emmy Rossum has bought 'chic' to the eccentricity of the theme. The sheer, white material of her full-length, custom-made gown is significantly innocent, however I think she achieves the whole 'punk' look through careful attention to hair and make-up. Her smokey eye, in my opinion, certainly stole the spotlight on the catwalk - we should all take a lesson from her artist Jo Baker! Also, her plaited up-do looks effortless and absolutely fab, showcasing her dress perfectly, however also incorporating the strong character of this years theme into her look. Despite looking somewhat more 'sophisticated' than some of the other guests, Emmy successfully conveys 'punk' by combining Couture with subtle nuances of Chaos. I love it.
Taylor Swift rocks this look, as she does in what seems to be just about anything at the moment! I don't know where to start with her J. Mendel dress. The show-stopping and absolutely gorgeously encrusted neckline is super-glamorous and the contrast of this texture against the intricate spider-web lace, has a beautiful effect. Also, the gown takes advantage of the geometric trend from this Spring, using solid black panels to construct the main body. Taylor's simple half-up hair do, ensures that her dress remains the centre of attention - as it should!

There were also some absolutely stunning 'mini' looks on the red carpet. Stacey Keibler's outfit is probably my favourite. Again, the texture contrast between the purple-studded body, smooth leather and sheer sleeves, is ultra-classy meets ultimate punk! Kate Bosworth also looks dazzling in this hot pink number from Balmain. Waisted, like Stacey's, it is so flattering and I love the beaded detail. The flash of gold around her middle makes her outfit really garish, in keeping with the theme of Chaos. I think they both look amazing!
