August Favourites.. With A Twist!

Hello guys! This month has been a real whirlwind for 'Beleza By Ems'. At the beginning of August, I launched my very first International Giveaway and have been uh-mayzed at the response.  I've also been lucky enough to take part in the re-launch of the bespoke custom designers who are Prarie Charms AND make an incredible friend in Kristen, through our UK/US Beauty Swap. BUT.. it's not quite ending there, because this post not only marks the end of the month, but it also announces my first ever YOUTUBE Video!

I've had lots of questions from some of you recently, asking me whether a YouTube Channel could be something I would ever pursue and now, this month, I'll be showing you my August Favourites through motion picture. It is, believe it or not, something I've been wanting to do for a long time so posting this today is exciting for me, as well as preeeeeetty scary!! I just want to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you for popping over here and reading my rambles - all of your comments have been amazing.

My favourites this month have all become well-loved products over the past weeks - some of which you may recognise from some of my more recent blog posts. I hope you all enjoy it.

If you enjoyed my YouTube debut, please let me know by leaving me a comment or a big thumbs up! And if any of you have a channel yourselves, please leave your link for me so I can go and subscribe.

Maybelline Baby Lips

So finally, I managed to get my paws on four out of six of these long awaited, stateside lip balms. Since their debut in the US, the Maybelline Baby Lips have been coveted by many a British Beauty Blogger, including myself.

How fun playful are these guys?! The packaging is so simple but also cleverly eye-catching. If you're solely after a hydration surge, then you have three clear balms to choose from - Intense Care, Mint Fresh and Hydrate - whereas if you like a touch of colour to your lip care, Peach Kiss, Pink Punch and Cherry Me are your tinted options...

Estée Lauder Double Wear ShadowCreme

I'm really into my creme eye shadows at the moment and when I was in Bicester at the I picked this guy up from the Cosmetics Company. I'm a huge fan of MAC Paint pots as they just work so well as bases, last all day and look gorgeous, so I was really interested to try these out.

Estée Lauder maintain that their 'intense colour' lasts 'up to 15 hours and goes on fast'. I went for 'Golden Sands' which is just the most beautiful, bright gold and I'm excited to wear this around Christmas time as well as having worn it frequently over the Summer months...

UK/US Beauty Swap With Your Beauty Fix!

I cannot believe that it was just over one month ago, that myself and Kristen first started talking. It feels like we've been close friends for years! Kristen writes an amazing blog over at Your Beauty Fix, which you must go and read if you don't already follow her. She's a completely gorgeous girl and I feel incredibly lucky to have made such a wonderful friend over the course of just a few weeks. Our little love story started on Instagram, when she commented on a photo of mine 'wishing' that they sold BarryM nail polish over in the US and that's when we had the brilliant idea of doing a beauty swap...

When Kristen's package arrived here, I couldn't contain my excitement and was SO overwhelmed by how generous she had been. One thing that we quickly realised, was that we have so many things in common... We're both Libra! But we also discovered we have very similar taste when it comes to beauty. So, here are the absolutely amazing goodies that she sent over to me last week and seriously Kristen, thank you so so much for everything...

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer

This is a product that has had huge praise online and rightly so - it's a real gem. This is the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer, which in my opinion, should be sitting in all our make up bags!

Many of us are happy using just one concealer, however it is always a good idea to have a separate highlighting concealer for use under the eyes, perhaps down the nose, for areas of the face that we want to illuminate as well as cover up. Maybelline's formula does just this and is PERFECT for hiding those dreaded dark circles...

Soap & Glory | Goss Stick in Nudist

I am completely head-over-heels for these Gloss Sticks from Sexy Mother Pucker at the moment. They are almost a gloss-balm hybrid and feel really moisturising on the lips - in my opinion these dont receive enough attention!!

They may just look like another chubby stick dupe, however I think S&G have really stepped up to the mark. The formula is so light, not too sticky and very build-able. You can sweep these over your lips just once, for a quick hydration surge, or build them into a medium-colour gloss...

Bourjois Délice de Soleil Bronzer

The chocolate bronzer from Bourjois is incredibly popular, however, I think that its sister product, Délice de Soleil, is somewhat over-looked in its wake. This is my go-to everyday bronzer and in my opinion, it's one of the top dogs on the high street.

This is really lovely and I actually would go as far to say that I prefer the colour and fragrance of this guy, as opposed to the chocolate bronzer...

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo Crème Eyeshadows

I'm a little late on the band wagon with these, as there have just been so many eyeshadows that I've been wanting to try over the last few months! But I eventually picked them up in Boots a few weeks ago and completely fell in love...

The two colours I picked out were Permenant Taupe, a rich matte and the oh-so-popular and slightly more shimmery shade, On and On Bronze. They are so similar in consistency to MAC paint pots and despite the sea of already fantastic reviews on YouTube and the beauty blogosphere, I've been really rather impressed...

Soap & Glory | Archery Precision Shaping Pencil

There were a few bits I wanted to pick up from the Soap and Glory stand this month and this was actually a bit of a spontaneous purchase, to make up the 3 for 2 offer. I can put my hands up and say I've never used a brow tint and have adamantly been a powder gal before now. However, this product has turned the tables...

'Archery' is a duo Brow Precision Shaping Pencil which has a 'felt tip' tint at one end and a brow pencil at the other, allowing you to use two different mediums to create your perfect brow. It is available in two colours: 'Love is Blonde' which is an ash-blonde shade and 'Brownie Points', a darker toned brown. I actually picked up what I thought was the wrong colour for me - 'Love is Blonde' but have found that this is absolutely perfect for filling in areas where my brows are more sparse and just creating a natural look...

MAC Matte Lipstick in Pink Pigeon

This is the first matte formulation I've bought from MAC and if you read my blog regularly, you'll know that the glossy, non-drying formula of the Cremesheen range is my usual favourite. However, Pink Pigeon has certainly scored some points for the other team - I am absolutely L O V I N G it!

The colour is just stunning and a re-release from the popular Iris Apfel Collection. MAC call it a 'bright, clean pink' but I think it is certainly striking enough to call this a neon lipstick, with a blue undertone. Compared to Candy Yum Yum, which is one of the most popular shades within this range, Pink Pigeon is certainly a darker magenta and lacks that 'sweet purple' tinge...

Estée Lauder Eye Shadow Duo

These eyeshadows from Estée Lauder, have been tremendously popular amongst beauty lovers and you may have seen many of the well-known beauty gurus, such as Tanya, talking about the 'Raisins' duo. So when I was at Bicester Village last week and saw these beauties on the shelf with a big discount tag, I quickly swooped in and grabbed one.

Unfortunately, 'Raisins' is just too popular and as usual, wasn't in stock. However, these duos are available in eight gorgeous combinations, so today I'm going to introduce you to 'Vanilla Pods'. Estée Lauder tell us that these shades are 'expertly paired to make ultra eye expression easy' - one shade is on hand to accentuate and enhance the eye, whilst the other serves to contour. To me, 'Vanilla Pods' is perfect for that natural-looking 'smoke', offering a golden beige and gorgeous mocha taupe...

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Foundation

For a long time now I've been looking for a foundation that gives a beautiful, flawless finish without feeling heavy on my skin. But here it is: Vitalumière Aqua by Chanel.

I've been putting off getting my hands on this for so long because I was worried the coverage 'wouldn't be worth the price'. When I'm buying a high end foundation, I always look for something that's really going to show off my skin. But this does so in so many ways, even with its super-light formula and Chanel go as far to call this an 'incomparable 'second-skin' perfecting result'...

Soap & Glory | One Heck Of A Blot

I am absolutely loving Soap and Glory at the moment and have been so impressed by the quality of their gorgeous cosmetics range. I have a few of these to share with you over the next few days, but wanted to start with 'One Heck of a Blot' which seriously, is one heck of a make up essential this Summer.

This is a super sheer, translucent mattifying powder, which literally says goodbye to shine in seconds. An oil-absorbing powder, which is suitable for all skin types and keeps make up put all day long, this really is a break through formula from Soap and Glory and has pride of place in my make up bag at the moment...

Bourjois Cream Blush in Nude Velvet

Another amazing product form Bourjois that I've found myself returning to over the past few weeks, is their Cream Blush in Shade 01: 'Nude Velvet'.

Bourjois call this a cream to powder blush and in my opinion, I think that the formula is great. It is firm, however the texture is really easy to apply and blend onto the apples of the cheeks. These blushes are available in four gorgeous shades that to my eye, will suit most skin tones: a nude, coral, pink and finally, peach...

Walking In A Windsor Wonderland

I discovered Free People on my first visit to New York, Bloomingdales, where my Mum and I were left in the impossible position of wanting to leave with their whole Winter Collection! We will forever be indebted to our amazing shop assistant Sherma, who on subsequent business trips, still helps my Dad pick out Birthday and Christmas presents (my favourite being a gorgeous full-length cardigan which Sherma had sold to Megan Fox the week before!) To my absolute delight, Free People have now made their debut in the UK! And to celebrate, they've launched a competition, eager to find some of our best hotspots and hangouts...

Royal Windsor is one of my favourite places to visit for a perfect day out. A picnic on the river, a cultural visit to the Castle to see the Queen's Guard, a rich variety of shopping and finally a trip to it's own historic theatre. It is a town steeped in traditional English glamour, as well as centuries of Royal history. Join me on a journey to one of our completely unique and quintessentially British towns...

Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque

A luxurious hair masque has become part of my Sunday night routine and at the moment, I am loving the Deep Repair Masque from Macadamia Oil. This is a product that has received huge hype from the blogosphere and is no stranger to the haircare guru.

Macadamia name their Deep Repair Masque as a 'hair reconstructor' that is specially formulated to with Argan and Macadamia oils, to 'penetrate and rebuild damaged hair for improved shine and elasticity'. I've tired many a hair reconstructor but this really is one of the good guys, that going to give you instant results. Here is how I have been getting on with it...

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Crème Cup

When in the MAC store on Carnaby Street last week, where I'm like a kid in a candy shop, I picked up one of their all time classics. I don't really know why I've waited so long to purchase this, as it has very quickly become my favourite neutral lip look.

Creme Cup is another gorgeous shade from MAC's Cremesheen line, which I think has become my favourite formulation that they do. These have the most creamy consistency, an incredibly colour pay off and an absolutely beautiful glossy finish on the lips...

NARS Blush in Orgasm

This is a LONG overdue purchase for me and has been on my wish list for quite some time! It is of course, the NARS Blush in their most famous of all shades, Orgasm.

If you are unfamiliar with NARS' range of blushes, all of the different shades have very rude and explicit titles! However if you can get past that, there are the most incredible colours to choose from. Orgasm, is just amazing and is the most beautiful peachy pink, dazzled with gorgeous gold shimmer...

Bourjois Bronzing Primer

Bourjois is probably most renowned for their bronzers, blushes and powders and this gorgeous Bronzing Primer is the newest release form them in bronzer-terms. It is also a duel-purpose product which I love and endeavours to smooth and mattify the skin, as well as create a sun-kissed glow.

This is a cream based bronzer, which is quite rare out there in the beauty sphere and as a result, it frequently gets compared to Chanel's 'Soleil Tan De Chanel', which is the really only other product with a similar texture. I absolutely love it and I almost wish I'd picked this up a little earlier than I did as it's become a real staple to my Summer make up routine...

Pamper Your Hands With L'OCCITANE

I think it's important to look after your hands throughout the whole year, not just in the winter when they are slightly more prone to becoming dry or chapped. So, let me introduce you to my pampering routine as of late, with two more gorgeous products from the lovely L'OCCITANE.

So my 'mini-regime' if you like, features an oil-based hand scrub, followed by an absolutely divine hand cream that together, give me soft and replenished paws in less than two minutes. First up, is the hand scrub which is an absolutely gorgeous in itself. L'OCCITANE claim that this scrub is specially made up to reveal 'incredibly soft hands in 1 minute' with a 'bi-phase' formula...

OOTD: Mad About The Maxi

Hello all!! Happy August - we have officially made it three quarters of the way through 2013! A quick outfit of the day today and because it's so gorgeous outside at the moment, I am loving my maxis. This is the newest one in my wardrobe and another amazing bargain found in the River Island Summer Sale.

Y-Back Maxi Dress River Island £12 SALE | Rose Gold Watch Michael Kors £229 | L.O.V.E Rings River Island £3

I love me a print maxi in the Summer and when I saw this in amongst all the River Island goodies, I just couldn't resist!! The material itself is so striking - I absolutely adore the areas of angled block colour and how the bright azure and turquoise blues are used against monochrome stripes....
