October Favourites

This month has flown by! I can't believe it's November already. October bought with it another year of University, a new house, my birthday and a whole lot of lovely memories. So it's that time again for me to show you a small collection of goodies that I've kept close by over the last four weeks.

My favourites this month are a complete mish mash. With it being such a busy time, I haven't bought many new bits and pieces but instead, have returned to a few treasures and also fallen in love with a couple of beauty related birthday gifts! So without further ado, I hope you enjoy browsing through my October favourites...

Leighton Denny One For All

It's been a while since I've done a nails post and since I've just bought a new bottle of this baby, I thought that now would be the opportune moment to introduce you to my cult nail product. For me, this is not only the best base/top coat out there; it also doubles up as a truly fantastic treatment.

Have Leighton Denny really pulled it out the bag and formulated the best clear gloss on the market? I think so. A base coat, top coat, ridge filler, and a seamless, transparent polish all in one little bottle, 'One For All' really is the ultimate, multi-purpose nail product. The lacquer has a beautiful, high shine finish and using this to sandwich my manicure, my nails look fresh and chip-free for nearly a week. I don't believe I've ever used a product with so much confidence: this really is a holy grail I recommend picking up...

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I have something of a love/hate relationship with liquid liner. I love wearing it, but applying it can get me a little worked up.. especially when I'm in a rush Never ask a girl wearing winged eye liner why she is late! However, with this month's Glamour magazine came something of a saviour and I'm back on good terms.

The Skinny Liquid Eyeliner is my first touch on the brand Eyeko and I can certainly say that they've made a good first impression. I've actually found myself reaching for this as a preference over my much loved L'Oreal Perfect Slim - which is really saying something! The 'felt-tip' style applicator, similar to L'Oreal's infamous product, makes this guy very versatile and super easy to apply. Not only this, it comes in an impressive five different colours...

First Impressions | Decléor

Declēor are a brand that I'd love to dip my toes into a little more, but sadly, my student budget doesn't quite allow for that! However, I have recently been lusting over some of their products from afar and trying a couple of bits and bobs from their fabulous collection, in the form of plenty of sample sizes!

Declēor Prolagéne Lift and Fill Mask* | Declēor Aromessence Iris Rejuvenating Serum*

I've been giving two amazing products the run of the mill over the last week or two, so I thought I would share my first impressions. They exist within the Declēor collection as two propular, anti-ageing treatments are both are currently available at discounted prices, with free delivery, at John and Ginger...

Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Scrub

After falling in love with Michael Todd's Blue Green Algae Toner a couple of months ago, I decided to  order a few treats, toner included, before returning to University. The Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub was on my wish list and I'm really loving it - this is one of the best exfoliators I've used.

If you're unfamiliar with Michael Todd, they are a US based brand, who just make the most fantastic skincare products. A massive 97% of their ingredients are organic, so you can be sure with these guys that you're going to get the results you want, without putting any chemical nasties on your skin. Their Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner has become a holy grail product for me and now that I've introduced a few new luxuries from their range, my skin is looking and feeling better than ever...

Autumn In Amsterdam

Following my birthday last Thursday, I was lucky enough to be whisked away to Amsterdam over the weekend. Whilst I was out there, I couldn't resist doing my own take (with the few clothes I could fit in my carry on suitcase!) on some of the European Street style...

We stayed at the Albus Hotel whilst we were in Amsterdam, which is a really unique design hotel right next to Rembrandt Square and the Flower Market - the perfect location. The staff were more than happy to tender to our every need and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel. But,without further ado, here is a very Autumnal OOTD and some belated fashion for you...

MUA Eyeshadow Palette | Undressed

Last month I sent Kristen from Your Beauty Fix one of MUA's gorgeous 'Heaven and Earth' Palettes, in our UK/US Beauty Swap. At just £4, these palettes really are a steal, so I dropped into Superdrug last week to pick up one of my own. However, I actually ended up falling for the 'Undressed' shades.

The Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow Palette has been loved for a long time by beauty bloggers, as a cheaper alternative to Urban Decay's infamous Naked Palette. The 'Undressed' colours are also very neutral and completely perfect for creating a clean, natural look. With 12 gorgeous eyeshadows, both matte and shimmer shades, there is plenty of scope for many everyday, as well as evening looks. And, the powder formulation is so pigmented; for an inexpensive brand, the colour pay-off is really, very impressive...

Make Believe Facial Self Tan With Bronzer

When it comes to self tanning, I turn to my go to brand which has always been St. Tropez. However, recently, I've been using this lovely facial tan from Make Believe, a brand that I've been unfamiliar with until now, but one which has instantly made a fantastic impression.

What I particularly like about this particular product, is that it offers an instant tan, as well as developing into a longer lasting colour over a few hours. This means that it can be used as an instant fix, for example if you need some additional colour before applying your make up to go out. Then, when you take your make up off, the self tan leaves behind a deeper, beautifully healthy glow. It's gorgeous. And, as if that isn't enough, it also goes beyond the brief of a self tan with a unique blend of Rainforest Oils, which intensely moisturises and conditions the skin...

Sleek Face Form Palette

I turned away from contouring over the Summer, but after purchasing this a couple of weeks ago I'm back on the band wagon. This is Face Form from Sleek, which is anyone's best friend when it comes to contouring. Inside, is the perfect recipe for face definition: a contour powder, gorgeous highlight and blush.

The Face Form palette is the sister product of the very popular Face Contour Kit, also from Sleek. However, this compact contains three products rather than a duo, through the addition of a blush. It is the ultimate product for facial definition if you're on a budget, or even if you're a beginner to contouring and want to work with flattering light and shadow in your make up. Sleek have catered for all, in that the shades of each powder product are adapted to suit all skin tones: Fair, Light, Medium and Dark. This is the 'Light' compact and I am absolutely loving it...

MAC Style Warrior Lipstick | Tribalist

I featured this beautiful MAC lipstick in my recent September Favourites and despite it being a limited edition shade, by popular demand from you guys I'm going to do a full review. During Autumn, I love the vampy-glam look, for which this guy is my fool proof staple.

Tribalist was a limited edition 'Style Warrior' Lipstick, some time ago now and the closest shade to this in MAC's permanent range, is 'Rebel'. Both, are a stunning, 'bitten' plum shade which looks drop-dead gorgeous on the lips. With dark eye make up, this bold lip is sure to make a seasonal statement and one which is completely timeless...

Current Season: Jewellery

In the Spring time, I did a blog post on current Jewellery trends and specifically, the Neon Statement Necklace. Now that the clocks are going back, I'm revisiting my accessories and have been having a look at this season's surfacing jewellery trends. As a result, I picked up this GORGEOUS statement piece in Zara last week and cannot get enough of it.

I must say, that Zara have some incredible Jewellery in this season and I found myself umm-ing and ahh-ing between a handful. I'm a sucker for all this. Anyway, I chose this one in particular as I just think it's completely timeless. The twisted strings of delicate pearls form such a pretty neckline and almost juxtapose the chains that entwine them. Then, as if that wasn't enough glamour alone, black jewels with a diamante surround are suspended from the pearls. It's certainly a statement and indeed, shows off something that has been seen a lot on the catwalks recently...

Soap & Glory Gloss Stick | Bashful

Meet my new favourite lip... My August Monthly Favourites Video featured one of these Soap & Glory Gloss Sticks in 'Nudist' - surprise surprise, the most nude shade in the range. This is Bashful, which I have fallen completely head-over-heels for since I picked it up last month.

These Gloss Sticks do not get enough hype in my opinion. They may just look like yet another chubby stick dupe, but actually, these now have pride of place in my handbag. I love them. The formulation is so creamy and moisturising, that you can just sweep these quickly over your lips for a quick hydration fix, or alternatively, build them up into a gorgeous, medium coverage gloss. As you can see from these photos, Bashful has already had a lot of love from me and I completely adore the colour...

Fashion and Flowers

This year, for London Fashion Week, the girls at Interflora have collaborated with some of the UK's top bloggers to produce a union between fashion and foliage. Inspired by some of this seasons most memorable shows, these absolutely stunning stunning arrangements superbly convey some of our countries most iconic designers.

If you've been reading my blog for some time now, you'll know that I often showcase flowers in my photography. So, this week, Interflora have asked me to show you guys some of their incredible work and finest floristry techniques. I love flowers and I love fashion, so I'm so excited to write some words to accompany these magnificent creations. It is certainly not hard to fall in love with them...
